Défi is an original, stimulating and easy-to-use French course. Anchored in the task-based approach, thiscourse will awaken students' curiosity by placing theculture at the core of the language-learning process. It is intended for older teenagers or adults at B1CEFR level. This course offers: A reassuring and adaptable structure: 8 units per level, each one of themdivided into two themed-sections. Each section contains: 1 discovery double-page, 2 double-pages with starter documents, as well as grammar, vocabulary and cultural activities and a final task (défi). Acquisitionof linguistic tools is naturally stimulated by realistic and useful documents: cultural and multiculturalelements, societal facts... Diverse reading strategies for easier comprehension of the documents and to encourage students' self-study. Interculturality is given an essential role: students reacts and interactsfrom their own experience and identity. Inductive andprogressive work on the grammar. The work on the vocabulary is very much present throughout the course and is consolidated by a dedicated page at the end of the unit: word clouds, mind maps, collocations...
